Give Yourself the Gift of Varicose Vein-free Legs This Year

Give Yourself the Gift of Varicose Vein-free Legs This Year

It’s that time of year when you’re running around getting all the gifts on your list, making sure that each and every one of your family and friends are well taken care of. Well, don’t forget to include yourself in your generous holiday giving spirit.

If you’ve developed varicose or spider veins on your legs and you want to hit the reset button and get back to smooth, blemish-free legs, you’ve come to the right place.

Up to 30% of the population develops varicose veins and, fortunately, we’re well armed to fight back. Here at Upper East Side Cardiology’s Vein Institute, Dr. Satjit Bhusri and our vascular team offer effective vein treatments that can quickly and easily clear your legs of spider and varicose veins.

So, if you want varicose or spider veins to no longer pose a cosmetic concern in the upcoming year, read on to learn about our vein treatments.

Using radiofrequency energy to get rid of varicose veins

First up in our varicose vein treatment arsenal is our ClosureFast® RFA system (RFA stands for radiofrequency ablation). With this system, we thread a thin catheter into the superficial vein that’s diseased. When the catheter is in position, we release RF energy into the vein, which causes the blood vessel to collapse.

To treat the entire vein, we move the catheter along the length of the vein, delivering RF energy blasts along the way.

After your ClosureFast treatment, the vein will be reabsorbed by your body and your blood will find a new path through healthier vessels, leaving you with smooth, varicose vein-free legs.

Sealing up problematic veins

Another excellent option for varicose veins is our VenaSeal® treatment. With this approach, we again thread a small catheter into the diseased vein. After the tube is in place, we inject VenaSeal into the vein, which acts as a glue and seals the vein shut.

When we seal your varicose vein(s), they shrivel up and are processed naturally through your body. Rest assured, as with all of our vein treatments, your blood will reroute through healthier vessels.

Injecting foam for varicose vein removal

Another offering is Varithena, which is another way to rid your legs of varicose veins. The active ingredient in Varithena is a low-nitrogen microfoam that shuts down your vein. And all we need to do to get that microfoam into your vein is to administer just one or two injections, in most cases.

Even better, the Varithena treatment takes only minutes for us to perform, and you can get right back to your day afterward.

As you can see, you certainly have options when it comes to varicose veins, and we’re happy to discuss which one is best for your needs.
